What is Verified by Visa?
Verified by Visa (VbV) is an exclusive solution offered by Visa which helps ensure that your online credit card transactions are made by the rightful owner of the card. Like two-factor authentication, VbV requires an additional password associated with your Visa-brand card to successfully complete an online purchase. The VbV program is free. Additional details below:
How does it work?
After entering your card details, your desired amount and clicking the Deposit button, you’ll be redirected, in a separate window, to your bank's website. If you are not yet enrolled in the program, you will be asked to enroll. If you’re already in the program, enter the VbV password associated to your card.
Can I still deposit if my card isn't enrolled?
Absolutely; however, during the deposit process, a window directing you to your bank’s website can still appear and ask you to register. You’re free to decline, but as an extra measure of security, we recommend you enroll when prompted.
What if my bank does not support Verified by Visa?
If your bank does not support VbV, you won’t be asked to enroll and your deposit can be successful without it.
Why did I not get directed to my bank’s website?
If you’re aware of the program, or already enrolled, and are not directed to your bank’s website for authentication, it's possible you need to update your web browser. We recommend using the latest version of Internet Explorer, Chrome or Firefox for maximum compatibility.
